Lasagna with Baby Bellas, Sun dried Tomatoes, Goat Cheese Quenelles and San Marzano Tomatoes

Lasagne aka lasagna may possibly be one of the oldest types of pasta dishes originating in ancient Rome or Greece. The first modern recorded recipe of Italian origin is ascribed to Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna region. The traditional recipe is made with béchamel, ragù and Parmigiano Reggiano although other recipes can be found in other regions and outside of Italy with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, tomato sauce and a multitude of different ingredients. In the US Lasagna has become a staple recipe made by restaurants, home cooks, families and culinary enthusiasts alike.
