It is said that toasted ravioli began as a mistake. A ravioli was accidentally dropped into oil. What resulted was a delicious savory version of a Sicilian holiday treat. Toasted ravioli are usually meat or cheese wrapped in a small square ravioli, breaded and deep fried until the pasta shell becomes slightly crispy, dry and golden brown, hence the name. They are traditionally served with marinara sauce for dipping and parmesan may also be sprinkled on top. We decided to take it up a notch with our jumbo version.
