Breaded Sausage Ravioli with Pepper Jack Dipping Sauce
Pepper jack is an American cow's milk cheese derivative of Monterey Jack, which was popularized in the 19th century. In its earliest form, Monterey Jack was made by friars in Monterey, California when an entrepreneur David Jack began selling the cheese commercially. His cheese was labeled as 'Jack's Cheese', and eventually Monterey Jack.
Ingredients
- 24 breaded ravioli
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- 10 oz pepper jack cheese (shredded)
- 1 roasted red pepper (diced)
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- 6 oz sharp cheddar (shredded)
Directions
In double boiler bring the ¼ cup of heavy whipping cream to 165°F then add sharp cheddar and blend until melted. In double boiler bring the remaining whipping cream to 165°F and add pepper jack cheese. Stir until melted then place in serving dish. Place cheddar sauce in squirt bottle. Top pepper jack cheese sauce with cheddar sauce and add diced roasted red peppers.
